DULUTH, Minn. - Fourth-ranked Minnesota Duluth defended its home
court today with a 3-0 victory over Michigan Tech. The match was
the first of three in as many days for the Huskies at the UMD
Classic.
Game scores were 30-8, 30-16, and 30-14, due in large part to the
host Bulldogs hitting .421 as a team.
Christa Jung led Michigan Tech with a .286 hitting percentage and
five kills. Jen Jung notched five kills and two blocks.Alison
Greene tallied a team-high 12 assists.
"They're an elite eight team and obviously a tough opponent," said
Huskies' head coach Krista Mikesch. "We weren't very disciplined
tonight, and we'll work to correct some things before we have to
face another strong team tomorrow."
Michigan Tech (2-3) will take on Minnesota State Mankato at 4 p.m.
tomorrow (Sept. 7).
