Jeter and Armstrong Tally 12 Kills Each
HOUGHTON, Mich. The Michigan Tech volleyball team
improved to 2-0 at home with a 3-1 victory over Gannon at the SDC
Gym today. The Huskies won the first two games (30-20, 30-23), lost
the third (30-22), then put the match away in decisive fashion
(30-14) in game four.
"Being at home has really seemed to provide a spark for the team,"
said head coach Krista Mikesch. "We played more consistently and we
want to continue to try to reduce the amount of unforced
errors."
All 17 players on the roster saw action in the match, and 13
different players had a kill. Kali Jeter and Veronica Armstrong
notched a team-high 12 kills apiece. Jeter did it on just 14

kills (10), and that capped off a strong weekend with for the
junior.
"It was nice to give our younger players some opportunities to get
experience today," added Mikesch. "Christa and Veronica both had
great weekends. We'll need everyone to take another step up next
weekend with two tough opponents coming in."
Michigan Tech (4-8 overall, 2-3 GLIAC) will host Saginaw Valley
State Friday (Sept. 28) and Northwood Saturday (Sept. 29). Friday's
