MARQUETTE, Mich. - Michigan Tech was swept by Northern Michigan,
3-0, at Vandament Arena tonight.
The Huskies (2-8, 0-3 GLIAC) and Wildcats (8-7, 2-1 GLIAC) played
to a 23-all score in game one before the Wildcats grabbed the
momentum. Northern Michigan won the game, 30-25, then closed out
game two with a 30-17 tally.
In the third game, Michigan Tech staved off a match point at 29-28
before NMU finally prevailed, 31-29.
Sophomore Kelly Jorgensen led the Huskies efforts with four kills,
a .250 hitting percentage and six total blocks. Setter Alison
Greene recorded a team-high five kills on six attempts to go with a
team-high 10 assists. Kelsey Skoog registered a match-high 17
digs.
Michigan Tech will play its home opener Saturday (Sept. 22) vs.
Mercyhurst. Opening serve is set for 4 p.m.
