Richardson Notches Career-Best 21 Points
FINDLAY, Ohio -- Findlay made 14-of-26 free throws including
eight in the final two minutes to come away with a 62-55 win over
Michigan Tech today in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference men's basketball.
MTU battled back from an 11-point deficit at the 4:15 mark of the
first half to take a 30-29 lead. The Oilers got a bucket with 15
seconds left for a 31-30 halftime edge.
The lead changed four times In the second half, the last time when
Findlay's Dustin Pfeifer made a three-pointer with 11:36 to play.
MTU stayed within three points at the 4:06 mark as Ed Ross sank two
of his 10 points. After a Josh Makela free throw, Pfiefer drained
another triple to make it a seven-point margin with 1:59 left.
Radayl Richardson notched a career-high 21 points for MTU. Ross
tallied a double-double with a 10 points and 13 rebounds. Makela
also reached double figures with 12 points.
Tech shot 36 percent from the field compared to 51 percent by UF.
The Huskies did have a 42-29 rebounding margin, but 10 more makes
at the foul line for the hosts proved to be the difference.
Michigan Tech's (3-5, 2-2 GLIAC) next game will come on Wednesday
(Dec. 21) at Minnesota Duluth. Tipoff is slated for 9 p.m.
