During the 2023–24 season, Zimpel earned Junior All-American honors while competing for Michigan Tech. She was also named to the Dean’s List and received the Michigan Tech Scholar Award. After missing the 2024–25 season due to chronic exertional compartment syndrome, Zimpel returned to competition in 2025–26 and earned Second Team All-CCSA honors. She was also named to the Dean’s List and received the Michigan Tech Scholar Award. Zimpel is passionate about helping others and plans to pursue a career as a physical therapist, with an interest in working in a hospital, acute care or trauma setting. She is the daughter of Jen and Brant and has a younger brother, Brayden. Outside of skiing, Zimpel enjoys spending time outdoors and making memories with friends and family. After returning to competition following her medical redshirt season, she is excited to be back racing alongside her teammates. Zimpel chose Michigan Tech because the trails are right outside her door, the team and coaches feel like family, and she values the university's close-knit community.
