Biography

Alex Pundsack
Sophomore
Hometown: St. Paul, Minnesota
Program: Exercise Science

Before joining Michigan Tech, Alex Pundsack competed for the Minneapolis Ski Club. During the 2025–26 season, Pundsack placed 21st in the F U20 skate sprint at the Senior Nationals in Lake Placid, New York. At the NCAA Central Regional Championships in Duluth, Pundsack placed fourth in the F U20 7.5K classic individual start and ninth overall—and second among U20 athletes—in the 20K freestyle mass start. At the Junior Nationals in Cable, Wisconsin, Pundsack placed 11th in the F U20 7.5K freestyle individual start and 14th in the F U20 classic sprint. Pundsack also helped earn a third-place finish in the U20 mixed relay alongside teammates Eddie Snider and AJ Westanmo. Pundsack graduated from Highland Park Senior High School in 2025. Outside of skiing, Pundsack enjoys biking, ultimate frisbee, baking—especially all things sourdough—cooking, reading, plants and gardening, hiking and camping, and alpine skiing. Pundsack is the child of Denise Roush and Jonathan Pundsack and has a sister, Ellie Pundsack. Pundsack chose Michigan Tech because of the smaller student-to-faculty ratio and the opportunity for more personal interactions within the Kinesiology and Integrated Physiology department while still attending a larger university. The great coaching staff and fun team environment were also major draws, along with the beauty and outdoor opportunities surrounding campus.
