Josh Hager is in his fourth year as linebackers coach atMichigan Tech after beginning his appointment on April 2, 2007. Healso serves as the team’s recruiting coordinator.
Before arriving at Tech, Hager spent a season as the widereceivers coach at NCAA Division I-AA Central Connecticut State,where he helped the Blue Devils to an 8-3 record. CCSU’soffense set seven school records and finished among the top 10 inthe country in Division I-AA in scoring (33.0 points per game) andtotal offense (386.8 yards per game).
Prior to his stint at CCSU, Hager worked at the University ofMary in Bismarck, N.D., from 2003 to 2005. He coached thelinebackers, defensive line and tight ends during his tenure.
Hager played quarterback at Dickinson State University for fouryears and began his coaching career there in 1996. He moved toValley City State University to complete a bachelor’s degreein elementary education and physical education in 1999. Hagergained a master’s degree in secondary administration from theUniversity of Mary in 2006.
Hager, who was married to the former Krystal Cowperthwaite onJune 19, 2009, has two daughters, Monica and Soleil.
