J. Richard Yeo

In terms of support and dedication to Michigan Tech, J. Richard
Yeo has been a leader during his time as a student, and following
his graduation as an employee of the University.
Rick, as he is called by friends, played varisty hockey for the
Huskies from 1963-66. He was a member of the 1964-65 NCAA and WCHA
championship team and his senior year, 1965-66, captained MTU and
gained team most valuable player honors.
Following his graduation form Michigan Tech in 1966, he went
back to his home in Ontario, where he was a teacher and coach in
Thunder Bay for seven years. In 1973, Rick returned to Michigan
Tech as an assistant hockey coach and three years later he was
hired as the head hockey coach at Lake Superior State University, a
job he held from 1976-81.
Yeo returned to his alama mater following his stint with the Soo
Lakers and has served as the Director of Annual/Special Gifts for
the Michigan Tech Fund ever since.
A regular member of the Huskies Club, Yeo also serves as the
executive secretary of that body. He is also a regular donor to the
MTU Scholarship Program and has contributed financially to the
Face-off Fund and the MacInnes Memorial Scholarship Fund.
