Peter J. Buchmann

Peter J. Buchmann '60, the director of the annual "MacInnes
Memorial Classic" alumni hockey game played each year during the
Alumni Homecoming, has become the unofficial alumni director for
the hockey Huskies.
Buchmann captained the Huskies' hockey team during the 1958-59
season, capping a three-year varsity career. He went on to play
with the semi-pro Green Bay Bobcats from 1959 until 1965, and
coached the team from 1965-70. He was also an assistant coach of
the U.S. National Team during the 1969 World Games in Stockholm,
Sweden. He has coached youth hockey in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for
the last 15 years.
Buchmann has continued his Michigan Tech involvement by chairing
the MacInnes Memorial Classic every year since 1972. He received
the Bob D'Alvise Award, recognizing his contributions to the hockey
program, in 1982. He has served on the Michigan Tech Alumni
Association Board of Managers since 1982 and is a long-time member
of the Huskies Club.
Buchmann holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering,
and is a registered professional engineer in the state of
Wisconsin. After working for several years as section manager for
Foth & VanDyke, a Green Bay engineering firm, he has recently
formed his own company, also in Green Bay.
