Larry Grimes

The only basketball player among the inaugural members of the
Hall of Fame, Larry Grimes holds every scoring record in University
history. From 1968 to 1972, Grimes was a unanimous All- Northern
Intercollegiate Conference selection, leading the league in scoring
four consecutive seasons. He was voted the Huskies' most valuable
player four times and served as co-captain and captain during his
junior and senior years, respectively.
As a guard, he averaged 24.6 points per game during his career
and his school records include most career points (2,360), most
points in a single game (50), and most points scored in a single
season (636). Grimes was chosen NIC most valuable player his senior
year and received Michigan Tech's Outstanding Senior Athlete Award
in 1972.
