Karen Henry

Only the second female to be inducted into the Michigan Tech
Sports Hall of fame, Karen Henry is one of the all-time great
skiers to compete at MTU.
A four-year letterwinner for the Huskies, Henry is widely
credited with helping organize MTU's first female varsity sport,
that being Alpine Skiing in 1974-75.
She participated in alpine skiing for two seasons and nordic
sking for three years and competed in the Collegiate Skiing
Nationals her final three years. As a senior her efforts paid big
dividends as she earnded a Top 20 finish.
Named the MTU Senior Athlete of the Year in 1978, Henry
continued her skiing career after leaving MTU. She was named to the
U.S. Nordic Skiing Developmental Team from 1981-84 and was ranked
in th Top 10 from 1982-84 in nordic skiing.
