John Meyers made the Michigan Tech football team as a walk-on in
1968 and went on to a stellar career as a both a tight end on
offense and a linebacker on defense.
He played for the Huskies from 1968-71 and helped the team to
the Northern Intercollegiate Conference titltes in 1969 and
1970.
He gained All-NIC First Team honors in 1971 at linebacker and
also earned the teams's Fred Baird Memorial Award as the
outstanding defensive player.
Meyers was also widely involved in campus activities during his
time at MTU, including participation in Student Council, Blue Key
National Honor Fraternity, Varsity Club and Theta Tau
Fraternity.
