A four-year letterwinner, John Kwiatkowski played defensive tackle for the Huskies from 1956-59 and was a team captain his final two seasons.

His sophomre season, he earned Honorable Mention Academic All-American honors.

As a senior he helped the Huskies to a 6-2 record, including a first-place mark of 4-1 in the Northern States Collegiate Conference.

Kwiatkowski earned All-NSCC honors his senior season and also gained the Fred Baird Memorial Award, significant of MTU's outstanding defensive player.
