Described by many as "Michigan Tech's Annie Oakley," Isabel Garity was a four-year letterwinner (1953-57) on the Huskies' rifle team.

As a freshman, Garity was ranked the top female shooter in the country by the National Rifle Association and fourth overall.

During her career, Garity captured three straight University of Illinois Invitational tournaments and won the NRA section meet in Minneapolis in 1954-55.

She was the first female to earn a varsity blanket at Michigan Tech and did so in 1956-57.
