HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech hockey student-athletes
Luca Fasciano,
Tyler Miller, and
Noah Reinhart have been honored as Krampade All-American Scholars announced Monday by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
To qualify for the tenth annual award, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 grade-point average for each semester, and had to appear in 40 percent of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA. 723 Division I men (404) and women (319) received the recognition.
Luca Fasciano, a native of Toronto, Ontario, skated in 29 games in his first season with the Huskies and tallied nine points on five goals and four assists. The defenseman was awarded the team's John MacInnes Slide Rule Award and held a 4.0 grade-point average in both semesters while majoring in finance.
Tyler Miller skated in all 39 games on the blueline for the Huskies in his second season in Houghton. He registered 13 points with three goals and 10 assists while also having a plus-11 rating and blocking 35 shots. The native of Medicine Hat, Alberta holds a 3.87 GPA in finance and was a CCHA Scholar Athlete and CCHA All-Academic Team member.
Noah Reinhart appeared in all 39 games in his first season in the Black and Gold and tallied 21 points with nine goals and 12 assists. The native of Dundas, Ontario, was a plus-10 with three power-play goals and scored the game-winner at Alaska (Oct. 18). Reinhart maintains a 3.94 GPA in business.
