HOUGHTON, Mich. – After a bye week and two road victories, the Michigan Tech football squad returns home to Kearly Stadium to host the defending National Champions and No. 1 nationally-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs on Saturday for a noon kickoff.

The Series
Ferris State and Michigan Tech have met 73 times, starting in 1947, with the Bulldogs holding a 35-34-4 series lead. FSU is riding a 12-game winning streak with a 35-21 decision at Kearly Stadium in 2023.
About the Bulldogs
No. 1 Ferris State has been making more noise nationally than usual as the Bulldogs have shutout their last three opponents, winning by an average margin of 67 points, winning 76-0 against Rio Grande, 66-0 at Roosevelt and 59-0 against Wayne State on Saturday.
The Bulldogs have also won a school-record 20 wins dating back to last September, playing to a 6-0 record in 2025, including a 2-0 ledger in the GLIAC.
Sophomore quarterback Chase Carter earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after running for a team-high 114 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns while completing 7-for-10 passing for 112 yards and a passing score in the win over Wayne State. Carter has six rushing scores and three passing touchdowns on the year.
Redshirt freshman Wyatt Bower has also been lethal at quarterback for the Bulldogs, tossing for 1,140 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while also being the team's rushing leader with 471 net yards on 70 carries and a team-leading eight touchdowns.
Running back Zak Ahern has rushed for 308 yards on 40 carries with five touchdowns, as Cam Underwood leads the receiving group with five touchdowns and 235 yards on 11 receptions.
The defense holds the eighth-best total defense, allowing 245.5 yards and 8.5 points per game. The Bulldogs have the second-best interception total in the country with 12, with Isiah Bobbit-Byars, Daviere Jones and Alex Springs leading the way with two interceptions, respectively.
The stout Bulldogs have also recorded 21 sacks for 142 yards, with Kailib Davis accruing a team-leading four sacks for 23 yards. Alston Ware is the team's top tackler with 26 total tackles.
About the Huskies
Michigan Tech hosts the Bulldogs following back-to-back wins to open the GLIAC slate on the road, most recently besting Davenport 16-14 on Saturday for an overall record of 5-1 and a 2-0 GLIAC standing.
Sophomore kicker Avery Kucharski earned his second GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week accolade after producing a season-high three field goals and a PAT in the win over the Panthers, as linebacker Chase Koch earned his first GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after grabbing his second interception in two games to go with a team-high eight total tackles.
Quarterback Alex Bueno has tossed for a GLIAC-leading 12 touchdowns with 1,151 yards in 99 completions. He has also rushed for a team-high three scores with 246 rushing yards behind the team's top rusher, Jake Rueff, with 283 net rushing yards on 71 carries and a touchdown. Senior Kolby Hindenach has also chipped in on the ground with 36 carries for 174 net rushing yards.
Nic Nora is atop the league with five receiving touchdowns with 385 yards on 28 receptions. Ethan Champney (301 yards) and Bryce Kurncz (243 yards) have also surpassed 200 receiving yards for the season, with Kurncz adding two receiving TDs, with one by Champney.
The Huskies' defense ranks second in the league behind FSU in total defense, allowing 245.5 yards and 17.7 points per game, which ranks third in the GLIAC.
Koch (47Â total tackles) and Dante Basanese (33 total tackles) lead the defense in tackles, while adding two interceptions and a forced fumble. Basanese, Terrence Martin and Jaiden Bolden led the Huskies with four pass breakups. Connor Hindenach has a team-high three sacks for 20 yards and ranks second in the league with .50 sacks per game.
One Last Thing
The Huskies' Homecoming game on September 20 saw nearly 2,800 fans in attendance, marking the highest-attended game at Kearly Stadium since the 2018 season.Â
