HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech Nordic ski teams are traveling to Brillion, Wis. this weekend for the Ariens Nordic CCSA Invitational hosted by UW-Green Bay. The Huskies will race a 15k individual start classic on Saturday and a skate team relay on Sunday.
"Saturday's race in an NCAA qualifier and then we have an odd number of qualification races that we need for selection purposes, so we're able to do a different race that doesn't count towards it," Head Coach
Tom Monahan Smith said. "We're going to do a 4 x 5-kilometer skate mixed-gender relay that will count towards team scoring and team ranking for the season. It's a really fun way for our student-athletes to get to experience some alternative race formats but also to get to actually really compete as a team."
The Ariens Nordic Trails are in their third year of existence. The college races begin at 9 a.m. Central both days.
