GLIAC SETTER OF THE WEEK

Tess Hayes is the GLIAC Setter of the Week for the second time this season.
• Hayes averaged 11.57 assists per set in two wins last weekend. She tallied 48 assists and seven digs in a 3-1 victory at Saginaw Valley State on Friday and followed it up with 33 assists and seven digs in a sweep at Lake Superior State on Saturday.
• Hayes leads the GLIAC in assists per set (10.65) and also averages 2.6 digs per set.

GLIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Libero/defensive specialist
Amelia Albers anchored the defense of the Huskies on the weekend, averaging 4.86 digs per set and was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
• She tallied 20 digs in the 3-1 victory at SVSU on Friday and notched 14 digs in the sweep at LSSU on Saturday.
• Albers leads the Huskies and ranks eighth in the GLIAC in digs per set (3.51).
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
• Wayne State is 14-12 overall and 11-5 in the GLIAC.
• The Warriors are 7-4 on their home court and rank third in the GLIAC in hitting percentage (.249) and fourth in assists per set (11.9), blocks per set (1.9) and kills pet set (12.83).
• Kayla Giroux leads the GLIAC in hitting percentage (.410), is third in blocks per set (1.12), and fifth in kills pet set (3.62). Molly Miller is sixth in the conference in kills pet set (3.60).
• WSU was picked sixth in the GLIAC Preseason Poll after going 10-19 overall and 5-13 in the GLIAC last season.

• Tech fell 3-0 at Wayne State on Oct. 25 in the only meeting of the regular season between the two teams. The Warriors won 25-17, 25-18, and 25-22.

COACH JENNINGS
• Head coachÂ
Matt Jennings is in his 13th season with the Huskies and has won 222 matches overall. He ranks second in wins in program history.
• Jennings is the chair of NCAA Volleyball Championships Committee. It's the sixth year working on NCAA postseason matters.
• Under Jennings, the Huskies have gone from last place in the conference to nationally ranked and consistently in the NCAA Tournament.
• Jennings coached the Huskies to four straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2017-21.
• He was named the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2017 and led the team to a program record of 10 straight wins to start the 2016 season.
• The 2021 spring team won a GLIAC Regular Season title for the second time in program history with the 2021 team repeating the feat in outright fashion.
LAST SEASON
• Tech finished the 2023 season 15-16 overall record with a 10-8 mark in the GLIAC.
