SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
• Saginaw Valley State is 6-19 overall and 3-11 in the GLIAC. The conference wins are over Roosevelt (2) and Lake Superior State. The Cardinals are 2-4 on their home court.
• Sarah Veale is third in the GLIAC with 3.73 kills per set.
• Lana Rybkowski is in her first season as head coach after seven years as an assistant at Northwood.
• SVSU was picked tenth in the GLIAC Preseason Poll after going 5-24 overall and 2-16 in the GLIAC.

• Lake Superior State is 8-18 overall and 2-12 in the GLIAC.
• The Lakers' two GLIAC wins are from sweeps over Saginaw Valley State and Roosevelt at home. They have dropped six straight and are 2-4 on their home court.
• Mariana Velasque was an All-GLIAC First Team selection last season and leads the team with 2.78 kills per set.
• LSSU was picked ninth in the GLIAC Preseason Poll after going 8-22 overall and 5-13 in the conference last season.

FIRST MEETING
• Saginaw Valley State – Tech earned its third straight win with a five-set thriller over SVSU. The Huskies won 23-25, 27-25, 22-25, 25-14, and 15-13.
Meg Raabe finished with a season-high 24 kills.
Rachel Zurek tallied 14 kills and added a pair of blocks.
Tess Hayes set the attack with 50 digs and led the Huskies with 23 digs.
• Lake Superior State – Tech picked up its second straight sweep by taking down LSSU 25-18, 25-17, and 25-20 at the SDC Gym.
Rachel Zurek had a match-high 14 kills while hitting .522.
Paige Wagner hit .533 and tallied 10 kills.
Meg Raabe was also in double digits with 10 kills.
Tess Hayes set the attack with 43 assists while adding eight digs.

• She tallied 24 assists and seven digs in a loss to No. 19 Quincy, 39 assists and eight digs in a sweep of Tiffin, and 45 assists and 12 digs in a victory over Findlay.

COACH JENNINGS
• Head coachÂ
Matt Jennings is in his 13th season with the Huskies and has won 220 matches overall. He ranks second in wins in program history.
• Jennings is the chair of NCAA Volleyball Championships Committee. It's the sixth year working on NCAA postseason matters.
• Under Jennings, the Huskies have gone from last place in the conference to nationally ranked and consistently in the NCAA Tournament.
• Jennings coached the Huskies to four straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2017-21.
• He was named the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2017 and led the team to a program record of 10 straight wins to start the 2016 season.
• The 2021 spring team won a GLIAC Regular Season title for the second time in program history with the 2021 team repeating the feat in outright fashion.
LAST SEASON
• Tech finished the 2023 season 15-16 overall record with a 10-8 mark in the GLIAC.
• The Huskies advanced the GLIAC Tournament Semifinal for the seventh straight season as the fourth seed.
