Rocket League
This week Tech's Rocket League team took a 3-0 sweep in its match against Clarke University. The victory was a powerful statement of the strengths and strong bonds that this team has made throughout the season.
After last week's devastating loss, the team wanted to come back with a powerful statement. As a result this week's game was a masterclass in goal scoring ability and teamwork from this Tech team. Each match they were able to score five or more goals, while only allowing for a maximum of two goals from the opposition. In the third match alone, Isaac "stewy" Stilwell was able to score five of the six goals in the match. The power of the Tech team was shown through the goal count coupled with every player racking up high assist counts in every match.
The team will be looking to continue this momentum in the coming weeks of play. They will be hoping to restart their win streak against the University of Toledo.
Smash
After a well fought game, Tech's Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SSBU) team walked away with a 2-1 loss. Their opposition, Depaul University, showed high levels of skill in the game that allowed them to defeat Tech.
Although this is a tough loss for the team, they have been developing consistently and will continue to prove themselves. After losing the first match, Tech went into the second match with hunger, and they were able to secure a match win. However, it wasn't enough for the team to pull through to win the game.
Going into their bye week, the team looks forward to the opportunity to get extra practice time to sharpen their skills and knowledge in the game.
Valorant
This week Tech's Valorant team faced a tough loss against St. John's University. While not the outcome the team hoped for, they still showed both their individual and team skills in the game.
Though the game didn't go quite as planned for this Tech team they were still able to win rounds both as attacker and defender. They showed that even in unfortunate situations they are still able to work together as a team to defeat their opponents on both sides of the map. They were able to learn from their opponents and gain more knowledge about not only their opponents, but team gameplay in general.
They will be turning their focus to their coming weeks of competitions, learning from each game and improving their play moving forward.
Overwatch
This week Tech's Overwatch team faced an unfortunate loss, putting an end to their undefeated season.
While not the outcome the team was looking for when going into the match, they were able to show the skills and teamwork they have developed during their wins over the season. During one of their matches, Tech's team showed resilience and fought hard to stay on top. Unfortunately, this match alone was not enough to come out with a win, but they were still able to show their skill and passion for the game.
This team hopes to rally and show their passion for the game as they look for another win when playing against Rowan University.
Call of Duty
Tech's Call of Duty team unfortunately comes out of the game with another loss against Fisher College. This was a well fought game and although the outcome is not what the team was looking for, they were able to keep each match close.
Each week that the Tech team competes, they are looking to improve their abilities and bonding as a team. During the post game interview, Daniel "Pineree" Danes feels that they played a great game and he looks forward to working on the improvements necessary as he states that they will "take all the positives and work on the negatives."
Although the results don't reflect it, this team has shown significant signs of growth and improvements. Tech will continue to work together as they go into a bye week in hopes to come out on the other side.
