Rocket League
It was yet another dominant week for Tech's Rocket League team. This week was a showcase of situational awareness and a lesson in overcoming adversity.Â
The Rocket League team faced early adversity in its match up against Rowan University. After losing the first match, Tech came to the second match with a hunger for a win. They were able to win the next three matches, winning the game and keeping their streak alive. "I think it generally feels the same," said Hunter "Carrot" Grandon when asked about the early game adversity this week, "At the end of the day our big goal is the win."
Carrot was a stand-out player for the Tech team this week. Showing aggressive defense and keeping a significant number of points off the board for the opposition. This in combination with the offensive provided from both Isaac "Stewy"Â Stillwel and Lucas "Grape" Foster, has kept the momentum and fire within the Tech team.Â
SmashÂ
The streak continued for Tech's Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SSBU) team as the Huskies dominated with yet another 2-0 sweep of their opposition. This team has shown dominance in every game and have been making waves in Playfly.Â
Even with facing technical challenges at the beginning of the game, Tech's team didn't let that slow them down. This week joining the varsity team in competition we had freshman player Malachi "ZombieBomb" Enter as Hero. He was able to secure the first set for the Tech team, proving not only his skill but the coaching abilities of our upperclassmen players.Â
As this team continues to grow with every game played they hope to keep the momentum they have built in these past three weeks of game play. They have an unstoppable energy and passion that is shown in every second of play.Â
ValorantÂ
This week the Valorant team faces a tough loss against Cumberland University. Their opposition showed high levels of skill and game knowledge that allowed them to out power Tech.Â
While not the outcome the team wanted from this match up, the Huskies have used this as a learning opportunity. Focusing on what strategies were effective from both sides of the fight, the team hopes to improve their skills and reinvigorate the hunger that drives them to dominate.Â
The team is now looking forward, ready to learn from each match they play and every situation that they are faced with. Expect the team to be back with a hunger for a win. Â
OverwatchÂ
It's yet another clean sweep for Tech's Overwatch team, now putting them at 3-0 for the season so far. The team showed power and skill against their opposition, which allowed them to take control and dominate with a 3-0 sweep.Â
In each map of this game Tech showed dominance, using their knowledge of the landscape of each map to their advantage. Their teamwork and game knowledge gave them an easy win in the first two maps of the game. While the third map showed a larger fight on the side of the opposition, Tech's power pulled through and led them to the win.Â
Each week the team proves their abilities and knowledge within the game and they have kept their morale high into each week of competition. They hope to continue this dominance into the coming weeks of competition.Â
Call of DutyÂ
While not the situation most teams would like to face, this week the Call of Duty team received a forfeit from San Jose State University. This means an automatic win for the team, however, it takes away valuable competition time from the team.Â
While facing challenging situations and unfortunate losses early in the season, Tech's Call of Duty team has used this time to fine-tune their practice and review strategies that can better their game play in the weeks to come. The team continues to show growth and resilience through every situation that they are put through.Â
The team has shown passion in game and strong bonds as teammates, that they hope to showcase against Rochester Institute of Technology this week. Â
