DULUTH, Minn. - No. 2 Minnesota Duluth rallied from a two goal
deficit to defeat Michigan Tech 5-3 in Western Collegiate Hockey
Association action Friday (Nov. 12). Duluth improved to 8-1-2
overall and 5-1-1 in the WCHA, and Tech fell to 3-3-2 overall and
1-3-1 in the league.
"Duluth is a talented team with good speed," said head coach Jamie
Russell. "I was happy to see us get out to a 2-0 lead. These
are tough buildings to play in. We need to step up when we get a
lead and not get back on our heels."

Olson gave the Huskies an early lead with his third goal of the
season at 1:08 of the first period. Deron
Cousens and Milos
Gordic each assisted on the power-play goal.
Gordic followed up with his fourth goal of the season to extend the
Tech lead to 2-0 at 12:12.
Minnesota Duluth, who entered the game ranked seventh in the nation
in scoring offense with 3.9 goals per game, scored the next five
goals.
Justine Fontaine tallied the first two markers for the Bulldogs
with an even-strength goal at 19:04 of the second period and a
short-handed goal at 2:46 of the third.
The Bulldogs added three more goals in the third period, including
their only power-play goal of the
night.

Olson would score his second goal of the evening for the
Huskies when his centering pass deflected into the goal off a UMD
player's stick at 18:11.
Duluth finished with a 47-17 advantage in shots, and each team was
one-for-four on the man-advantage.

Robinson (1-1-1) finished with 42 saves for the Huskies.
The Huskies and Bulldogs will face off again Saturday at 7:07
pm.
