Huskies Fall in Semifinals of Great Lakes Invitational

DETROIT - No. 13 Michigan State had five players record three points in a 10-1 win over Michigan Tech in the semifinals of the 45th Great Lakes Invitational Tuesday (Dec. 29) at Joe Louis Arena. The Spartans improve to 13-6-2 and the Huskies fall to 3-15-0.

Senior Drew Dobson scored the lone Husky goal at 11:02 of the first period. Junior Eric Kattelus' initial shot was blocked with the rebound coming to Dobson in front of the net who scored with a wrist shot for his third goal of the season. Junior Jordan Baker recorded his first assist of the season on the goal.

State finished the evening 1-3 on the power play and Tech was 0-4.

Drew Palmisano (9-5-2) finished the night with 28 saves for MSU.

Freshman Kevin Genoe (2-11-0) made three saves and gave up two goals in 13 minutes of work. Sophomore Josh Robinson made 17 saves in 47 minutes of relief work.

Tech will face either RPI or Michigan in the third place game Wednesday.
