TIFFIN, Ohio - The Michigan Tech volleyball team cruised to a
3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-17) victory over Tiffin thanks to a .324
hitting percentage in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference play Saturday (Oct. 3). The Dragons (2-17, 0-9) hit just
.192 in the match.
"I was happy with the win today after a sub-par performance on
Friday," said head coach Orlando
Gonzalez."We were able to not get over confident going into
today's match and take care of business."
Sophomore Kristine Sexton led the
Huskies (7-10, 5-4) with a match-high 14 kills and finished with a
.458 attack percentage.
Senior Alicia
Schneider was also very dominate in the match finishing with a
.500 attack percentage and 10 kills.
Senior Kaari Nevanen collected
another double-double on the season thanks to 10 kills and 10
digs.
Freshman Rachel
Glisch paced the team with a match-high 21 digs, and freshman
Madeline
Haben accounted for 37 of the team's 48 assists.
The Huskies finished with a 7-3 advantage in blocks, due in large
to senior Lyndsey Dixon who finished
with a match-high block assists.
Tech will play a pair of road matches next week at Northwood (Oct.
9) and Wayne State (Oct. 10).
