HOUGHTON, Mich. - #14 Michigan Tech and #1 North Dakota combined
for 30 penalties as the Huskies fell to the Fighting Sioux 6-0
Saturday.
The Huskies (4-2-0, 3-1-0) were called for 16 penalties for 32
minutes while the Fighting Sioux (3-1-1, 1-1-0) were caught 14
times for 28 minutes. North Dakota finished the night 3-8 on the
power play (.375) while Michigan Tech was 0-7.
"This year our special teams have been dynamite but not tonight,"
said head coach Jamie Russell.
T.J. Oshie recorded a hat trick to lead the Sioux while Ryan Duncan
finished the night with three assists.
Jean-Philippe Lamoureux (3-1-1) made 27 saves in the UND
shutout.
"Give their goalie a lot of credit. He deserved his shutout," said
Russell.
Rob Nolan (2-1-0) made 19 saves and allowed six goals, two in the
first period and four in the second, for the Huskies.
Michael-Lee Teslak made eight saves in the final 20 minutes of
work.
Michigan Tech will travel to Wisconsin for its first road series of
the season, Nov. 2 and 3.
