Russ VanDuine

Russ VanDuine, class of 1981, is a true model of the word
student-athlete.
A four-year letterwinner in men's basketball, Van Duine had an
illustrious athletic career at Michigan Tech.
He earned first-team all-conference honors twice and team Most
Valuable Player honors three times. In MTU's first season in the
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, he led the league
in rebounding and was named conference MVP.
On the academic side, VanDuine finished his work at MTU with a
3.86 grade point average and two degrees a B.S. in eletrical
engineering as a B.S. in engineering adminstration.
A first-team Academic All-American, he received one of only 15
NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship grants nationwide and went of to
earn a M.B.A. at Winona State University while working full-time at
IBM in Rochester, Minn.
VanDuine continues to work at IBM today and is a member of the
MTU Alumni Association, The Huskies Club, The Varsity Alumni Club,
and is active in his church.
