Jack G. McManus

Jack McManus, who donned the Huskies uniform from 1953-57, is
one of the premier forwards to ever play hockey at Michigan
Tech.
McManus led the team in scoring each of his final three seasons
and accumulated many honors along the way.
His sophomore campaign, he earned All-Western Intercollegiate
Hockey League Second Team honors. As a junior, a season in which he
tallied 29 goals and 52 total points, McManus was an All-American
Second Team selection, an All-WIHL First Team honoree, and was also
honored by his teammates as Most Valuable Player. McManus concluded
his stellar career in 1956-57 as team captain while also gaining
All-WIHL Second Team laurels.
In his four-year career, the North Bay, Ontario, native tallied
160 total points, which today ranks ninth all-time at MTU. In
addition, his 88 career goals currently place him fifth on the
school's all-time charts. McManus continues to be in the huskies'
record book for fastest two goals, which he scored just 10 seconds
apart in game versus Colorado College back on March 2, 1957.
