Last Time Out

The Black & Gold opened the season at the Phoenix Open hosted by the University of Green Bay on September 6th. Junior stalwart Sophia Rhein was the highlight of the meet for Michigan Tech as she placed runner-up in the 6k women's race.

Her time and placement improvement from a season ago proved to be the best performance throughout the GLIAC as she was tabbed the GLIAC Athlete of the week, lowering her time from her sophomore campaign by over 30 seconds, running a time of 21:49.8.

As a team, the women's squad claimed fourth overall and bested Milwaukee by 13 points with their score of 102 points.

Veteran Claire Endres (20th-place), freshmen duo Hannah DuPuis (25th-place) and Brooke Marquardt (27th-place) and senior Ingrid Halverson (28th-place) made up the top-five for the Huskies.

The then-No. 19 nationally ranked men of Michigan Tech claimed fourth as a team, with Colman Lenci being the low-stick with a sixth-place finish with a time of 25:28.3.

Sophomores Brady Ketzenberger (12th-place) and Zeb Swager (13th-place) clocked sub-26 minutes on the 8k course, bettering their places from 2024.

Senior Callen Carrier (30th-place) and freshman Eddie Snider (34th-place) rounded out the Black & Gold's top-five clocking times of 26:11.6 and 26:15.6 for Snider in his collegiate debut.
