  • Tech Nordic Skiing Announces Team Awards

    The Michigan Tech Nordic ski team awards were announced at the inaugural postseason Skimeister Race at Mt. Ripley followed by a team banquet potluck and volunteer appreciation party. 
  • Former Assistant Cork Awarded Olympic Coach of the Games

    Former Michigan Tech assistant coach for Nordic skiing, cross country, and track and field Jason Cork has been award the Olympic Coach of the Games by the United States Olympic Committee. The current Assistant Cross Country Coach of the United States Ski Team was presented with the award on April 26 at the Team USA Awards presented by Dow, Best of the Games ceremony, held at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C.
  • Tech wraps up competition at the NCAA Skiing Championships Saturday

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic skiers wrapped up their final event Saturday, March 10 at the NCAA National Skiing Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo. hosted by the University of Colorado. Gaspard Cuenot led the Huskies with his 21st place performance in the 10-kilometer classic race Thursday.

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic Ski Team is set for their first competition at the NCAA Skiing Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo. hosted by the University of Colorado. The Huskies will participate in the classic races Thursday, March 8 followed by the freestyle event Saturday, March 10.

  • Nordic Skiing Hands Out Team Honors; Smith Named CCSA Men’s Coach Of The Year

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic ski team wrapped up the 2017-18 regular ski season with five First Team All-Conference honorees; Sarah Goble, Gaspard Cuenot, Tom Bye, Mitch DeLong and Reid Goble along with two Second Team All-Conference award winners, Amanda Kautzer and Patrick Acton. MTU’s head coach Tom Smith was also named Coach Of The Year by the the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA).
  • Huskies Wrap Up Regular Season at U.S. Ski Super Tour Regional Championships

    The Michigan Tech Huskies wrapped up their Nordic ski season in the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame Super Tour Regional Competition at the Al Quaal Recreation Area hosted by Northern Michigan University. Saturday's events consisted of the 20-kilometer and 15-kilometer freestyle events and Sunday concluded with the 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer individual start classic races.
  • Nordic Skiing Powers Past Competition at CCSA Conference Championship Races

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic Ski Team competed in the Central Collegiate Ski Association Conference Championships Saturday, Feb. 10th  and Sunday, Feb. 11th hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The Huskies had several competitors file into the top-10 in each ski event over the weekend and Gaspard Cuenot clinched his second 1st place title of the season in the freestyle event Sunday.

  • Huskies Nordic Skiing Opens MTU CCSA Races Saturday

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic ski team raced in the MTU CCSA Races on the Tech Trails Saturday morning. Tech’s Tom Bye and Gaspard Cuenot both earned top spots in the men’s 10K individual classic race and Amanda Kautzer of the women’s team stepped up with a top performance, leading the women’s team in 7th place.
  • Kautzer earns spot on US Biathlon World Championship Team

    Amanda Kautzer has qualified for the Biathlon Junior World Championship US women’s team for the fourth year in a row. The championship will be held February 26-March 4 in Otepaa, Estonia.

  • Cuenot Clinches Third Place in Classic Race

    The Michigan Tech Huskies filed into a plethora of top 10 finishes in the classic races Sunday at the Minnesota Duluth CCSA races held at the Cavoc Trails. The men raced in a 15K individual classic race where Gaspard Cuenot led the men’s team with his 3rd place finish and the women competed in a 10K. Sarah Goble took 6th place.
  • Huskies Nordic Skiing Routs Competition in Sunday’s Freestyle Event

    Michigan Tech’s Tom Bye took the podium in Sunday’s Freestyle Event at the Birkie Start CCSA series, finishing in 1st place in the men’s 15K race. Five Huskies followed to finish in the freestyle’s top 10 overall to wrap up the weekend’s competition.

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic Ski Team rounded out the competition at the U.S. Nationals in Kincaid Park with the classic 30K/20K/10K/5K ski events Sunday Jan. 7. Three Tech freshmen, Reid Goble 9th, Mitch DeLong 11th and Patrick Acton 17th, cracked the top 20 in the Junior Male 10K Classic Mass Start.

    The Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic Ski Team competed in a skate sprint competition on their second day in the field of the U.S. Nationals at Kincaid Park Friday, Jan. 5. Tom Bye led the Huskies in 24th place with a qualifying time of 3:14.82.

    The Michigan Tech Nordic ski teams competed yesterday in the opening day of racing at the 2018 L.L. Bean U.S. Cross Country Championships at Kincaid Park Wednesday, Jan. 3. Tech’s Reid Goble, Tom Bye and Mitch DeLong finished in the top tier for the CCSA qualifiers in the 15K distance event.

    The Michigan Tech Nordic ski team had another great day of the 2017 CXC Junior Cup/FIS Open/Alumni Open as they took part in the classic distance races Sunday morning. The men raced in a 15K mass start and the women’s teams skied a 10K.

    The Michigan Tech Nordic ski team opened the 2017 CXC Junior Cup/FIS Open/Alumni Open Saturday, Dec. 16 with the freestyle sprint races on the Tech Trails. The U18, U20, collegiate, masters and seniors took part in a 1.5K sprint.
