    Michigan Tech was selected third in both WCHA preseason polls the league announced on Monday (Sept. 25). Seniors Mark Auk and Joel L’Esperance and sophomore Mitch Reinke earned Preseason All-WCHA recognition.
  • White Beats Gold in Intrasquad Game

    White defeated Gold 2-0 in the Michigan Tech hockey intrasquad game on Saturday (Sept. 23) night at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The 30-minute game, and Skate with the Huskies after, raised over $660 for local youth hockey associations, as cost of admission was a donation.

In Marcus Russell, the Huskies did not add a local kid, but they did get the next best thing, as the Traverse City native grew up playing against the local kids.

    Michigan Tech head hockey coach Joe Shawhan completed his 2017-18 roster with the addition of goaltender Patrick “Packy” Munson. Munson is 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of Hugo, Minnesota. He joins forwards Justin Misiak, Greyson Reitmeier, and Marcus Russell, defensemen Seamus Donohue, Keegan Ford, Mitch Meek, Tyler Rockwell, and Cooper Watson, and goaltender Robbie Beydoun as fresh faces for the Huskies.

    Current Michigan Tech hockey assistant coach Chris Brooks was inducted into the Western Michigan University Hockey Ring of Honor on July 29. Brooks played for the Broncos from 1992-96 and coached at WMU from 1999-2008. The induction ceremony took place at the WMU Hockey Golf Outing at The Moors in Portage.

    Former Michigan Tech hockey player Blake Pietila signed a two-year contract extension with the New Jersey Devils Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero announced on Wednesday (July 26). Pietila has a goal and two assists in 17 career NHL games and 50 points in 107 AHL games.

    Michigan Tech hockey player Jake Jackson is one of 28 forwards at San Jose Sharks annual prospect development camp this week. The camp goes from July 3-7 at Solar4America Ice at San Jose with the fifth annual Sharks Prospects Scrimmage set for Thursday (July 6).
  • Auk, Lucchini Invited to Oilers Camp; Redmond at Ducks Camp

    Michigan Tech hockey players Mark Auk and Jake Lucchini will participate in the Edmonton Oilers development camp, beginning Saturday (July 1). The camp goes until July 5 in Jasper, Alberta, with 36 prospects attending. Former goaltender Angus Redmond is on the ice this week at the Anaheim Ducks annual prospect development camp.
