Wiedemeier Wins Pole Vault at St. Norbert Twilight
Two Michigan Tech track and field student-athletes competed at the St. Norbert Twilight Meet on Thursday (Apr. 17) at Schneider Stadium. Jake Wiedemeier won the pole vault and Mike Fisher placed fourth in the high jump.

Cousino Wins SJU Multi Over Weekend
Brent Cousino and Patrick Spalding of the Michigan Tech track and field team finished one-two at the St. John’s Decathlon Multi meet on Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 12-13). Cousino finished with 6,066 points, while Spalding had 5,984 points in the six-athlete field.

Tiffin Clips Tech 5-4 in Men's Tennis
The Michigan Tech men’s tennis team wrapped up its 2014 regular season today with a 5-4 loss to Tiffin at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies came back from a 4-1 deficit in the match to tie it at 4-all before succumbing.

Track and Field Competes at Holst Invitational in Minnesota
The Michigan Tech track and field team competed at the fourth Holst Invitational on the campus of the University of Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday (Apr. 12). The Huskies had 16 top five finishes on the day.

Tennis Tripped by ODU 6-3
Michigan Tech fell to Ohio Dominican 6-3 in GLIAC men’s tennis today at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies are now 9-8 overall and 4-6 in league play.

Huskies Earn 5-4 Come-From-Behind Victory over Findlay
Jimmy Konarske fought off five match points and overcame a 5-1 third-set deficit to claim a 2-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5 victory and propel Michigan Tech to a 5-4 win in GLIAC men’s tennis today at Gates Tennis Center. As a team, the Huskies won three matches that went to three sets including each of the final two on the courts.

Bill Robertson Tapped to Lead WCHA
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) today announced that Bill Robertson has been selected as the new commissioner of college hockey’s most historic, tradition-rich and successful conference. He accepted a multi-year agreement with the WCHA.

Four School Records Fall in Wisconsin Sunday
The Michigan Tech track and field teams competed at the Rex Foster Invitational on the campus of UW-Whitewater on Sunday (Apr. 6). The Huskies broke four school records and the men placed third while the women were sixth.

Men's Tennis Defeated 7-2 at Lake Superior State
Michigan Tech dropped a 7-2 decision at Lake Superior State today in GLIAC men’s tennis. The Huskies, without the services of one of its top players Javier Oliveros, fell behind 3-0 after doubles and could never catch up.

Athletic Trainers Holding a Clinic on April 19
The Michigan Tech athletic training staff is holding an Athletic Training Clinic on Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. The clinic will teach kids grades 9-12 the athletic training profession. Preregistration is required by April 17 and costs $33.

Spring Football in Session
The Michigan Tech football team began spring drills last week as it prepares for its 92nd season on the gridiron next fall. Four weeks (15 practices) of spring drills will culminate with the annual intrasquad game on April 19 at Sherman Field.

Timberwolves Defeat Huskies 7-2 in Men's Tennis
Northwood topped Michigan Tech 7-2 in GLIAC men’s tennis today. The Huskies earned points at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, but it wasn’t enough to keep from falling to 8-6 overall and 3-4 in league action.

Stebner Signs with ECHL’s Stockton Thunder
Michigan Tech hockey player Brad Stebner (Fort McMurray, Alb.) signed an amateur tryout contract with the Stockton Thunder of the East Coast Hockey League it was announced today by Thunder Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm.

Michigan Tech fell to Grand Valley State 6-3 in GLIAC men’s tennis at Gates Tennis Center today. The Huskies won two of the three doubles flights but only one of six singles matches on the day in dropping to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in league play.

Michigan Tech senior guard Austin Armga was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II All-Midwest District First Team. Armga was one of 88 student-athletes honored.
