Michigan Tech finished off competition at the Viking Olympics at Augustana College Saturday (Mar. 28). Huskies won five events during the day. The men’s team finished second of 18 teams at the event. The women were sixth of 17 squads.

Hockey Season Ends With OT Loss In NCAA Tournament
The No. 5-ranked Michigan Tech hockey team had its season come to an end with a 3-2 OT loss to No. 13 St. Cloud State in the first round of the NCAA West Regional from Scheels Arena on Friday. Tech finished the 2014-15 season with a 29-10-2 record.

Blake Gains WBCA All-America Honors
Michigan Tech’s Danielle Blake (Midland, Mich.) earned All-America Honorable Mention from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association it was announced late yesterday. The junior forward is the sixth Huskies’ player in the last seven years to gain All-America honors.

Senior Ben Stelzer (Manitowoc, Wis.) from the Michigan Tech men’s basketball team has added two more prestigious awards to his haul from the 2014-15 season. Today he was named Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America Second Team and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Region First Team.

In the only matchup of top-five-ranked teams in college hockey today, Minnesota State defeated Michigan Tech 5-2 in the WCHA Broadmoor Trophy Championship game. Tech is 29-9-2 and will earn an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament.
