  • This Week in Michigan Tech Athletics: December 11-17

    Hockey hosts Lake Superior State this weekend and while the basketball teams travel to Northern Michigan Sunday. Nordic skiing is also home for races Saturday and Sunday at the Tech Trails.

    Hockey returns home this weekend for a WCHA series versus Ferris State. Basketball travels to Grand Valley and Purdue Northwest. Nordic Skiing begins its season in Ishpeming.
  • SAAC Sponsoring Hat and Mitten Drive

    The Michigan Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has coordinated a hat and mitten drive. All items collected at Huskies' home games and on campus will benefit the Salvation Army, a local charity. There is still time to bring in your donations as the event will run through Dec. 9 at the Tech hockey game vs. Ferris State in the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.

    Volleyball plays in the NCAA Tournament. The men's and women's basketball teams open GLIAC play at home on Thursday and Saturday. Hockey is off this weekend.

    Women's basketball plays home Monday while the men's team is home Wednesday and Saturday. Hockey continues its Alaska road trip Friday and Saturday against the Alaska Nanooks.

    Volleyball hosts a GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinal match Wednesday versus Tiffin. Both basketball teams travel to Minnesota and the hockey team heads up to Alaska for the next to weekends.
  • Military Appreciation Weekend Ad

    Michigan Tech Athletics is hosting Military Appreciation Weekend on November 10-12. The Huskies host six events that weekend and have partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project to honor both active and retired military personnel. The weekend is being sponsored by Keweenaw Chevrolet, TV6, and Pepsi of Houghton.

  • Purchase a Michigan Tech Trails Annual Membership Now
    October 30, 2017
    The Michigan Tech Trails are a great resource in our community – occupying 35 kilometers of nationally-recognized land for skiing, snowshoeing, hiking or mountain biking. Community members are required to purchase a membership or day pass prior to using the trails. Current Michigan Tech students use the trails for free through Experience Tech, and children 17 and younger can use the trails free of charge.

    Hockey hosts Bowling Green in a rematch of last year's WCHA Championship Game. Soccer plays in the GLIAC Tournament Tuesday and cross country is at the NCAA Midwest Regional. Football and volleyball play their final road games.
  • Huskies Raise over $1,900 for the Women Living With Cancer Support Group

    The Michigan Tech soccer and volleyball team’s dedicated a season home game to raise money for the Women Living With Cancer Support Group, a group that provides support for cancer patients. A grand total of $1,946 was donated to the organization from the team’s fundraising efforts.

    Football hosts Davenport Saturday. Hockey travels to Minnesota State. Volleyball is downstate and soccer wraps up its regular season versus NMU Friday.

    Homecoming week features home hockey, football, volleyball, and soccer. Cross country races at the 2017 GLIAC Championships and women's tennis wraps up its regular season at Lake Superior State.

    Michigan Tech soccer and women's tennis play at home this weekend. Hockey begins WCHA play at Lake Superior State, football travels to Ashland and the volleyball team plays at the Crossover.

    Volleyball hosts Ashland and Tiffin this weekend in GLIAC play. Hockey plays in the annual Ice Breaker Invitational Tournament in Duluth while football takes its two-game winning streak on the road to Northwood. Soccer, cross country, and women's tennis are also on the road.
  • Wisconsin-Parkside to Join GLIAC Membership in 2018-19

    The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) is stretching its footprint west of the Great Lakes with the addition of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, which will join the conference as full members beginning in 2018-19.

    Football and women's tennis are the only teams playing at home this weekend. Football hosts NMU for the Miner's Cup Saturday. Hockey begins its season at Wisconsin on Sunday.

    Volleyball hosts NMU Tuesday and hockey hosts an instrasquad game on Saturday. Football, soccer, volleyball, cross country, and women's tennis are all on the road over the weekend.

    Football hosts Grand Valley State this weekend to begin GLIAC play. Volleyball also hosts a pair of matches to begin conference play while soccer continues its four-game home stand.
  • Breakers to Bridge Paddle Festival Race Takes Off This Saturday, Sept. 9

    The Breakers to Bridge Paddle Festival, a 10 miles race from Breakers to the Portage Lake Lift Bridge on the canal, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9. The festival is centered around the Keweenaw and its purpose is to raise awareness for the Keweenaw Water Trail and the Keweenaw Land Trust, a community partner dedicated to protecting land, water and quality of life through conservation, stewardship and education. The event is being coordinated by the Keweenaw Land Trust in partnership with Michigan Tech's Outdoor Adventure Program.
  • Michigan Tech Athletics Announces Major Award Winners

    Michigan Tech Athletics today announced its major award winners from the 2016-17 season. Kwang Suthijindawong and Shane Hanna received the Raymond L. Smith Award as the top senior student-athletes. Tommy Lucca and Anne Fife received the Terry Wilson Award as the top freshmen student-athletes, and Morgan Anderson received the Rick Webster “SISU” Award

    Tech hosts soccer and volleyball this weekend. The football team takes its 1-0 record on the road to Hillsdale while the tennis and cross country teams open their seasons on the road.

    One-Hundred Michigan Tech athletes were recipients of the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for their work in the classroom this past season.

    The Michigan Tech Fall camps, clinics and tournaments are now open to the public for registration. The volleyball team and men’s and women’s basketball teams will host their annual Little Huskies league.

  • Scott Jackson Hired as New Trail & Outdoor Adventure Program Manager

    Michigan Tech Athletics and Recreation has hired Scott Jackson as the new Trail and Outdoor Adventure Program Manager. Jackson started on July 31 and is responsible for maintaining the Tech Trails and coordinating large scale events for the Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP).
